I hope you all have gotten to the beach more than I have. Let’s see, at last count I was at … zero. Now that the July 4th Race is over I hope that number will go up.
We are making more shortcake this year than the last two years combined. I am not sure if we are cooking better or if the fresh berries have just been incredibly delicious this year. Whatever the reason, they have been very popular as of late and if you haven’t tried one, you may want to soon. A couple of recent specials include Coffee Oreo and Ginger. I will make some Pumpkin soon even though it really is a fall flavor because of so many requests. Also look for some Passion Fruit Sherbet which is cool and refreshing in a bowl or in a sherbet freeze on a hot summer day. We are also trying something new and making our coffee flavored Mud Pie ice cream with oreos, chocolate chips, heathbar, and fudge (No walnuts). Let us know what you think. So many folks have commented they would like it better without the walnuts so we’ll give it a try.
